“Everybody is you” è il nome della mostra personale di Giorgio Bartocci, curata da Antonio Budetta e Giulia Falcone, che si è tenuta qualche mese fa presso l’Aria Art Gallery di Firenze.
La mostra è stata un progetto site specific, ovvero un intervento studiato e pensato su misura da Giorgio Bartocci. Creato appositamente per la sede Fiorentina di Aria Art Gallery.
Sin dal bellissimo giardino antistante, la galleria ci offre un ambiente decisamente raro per Firenze. Si trova infatti all’interno di una corte rinascimentale ricchissima di vegetazione, che ci estranea dal caos cittadino, e fa da corridoio preparatorio alle mostre.
“Everybody is you” all’Aria Art Gallery
“Everybody is you” è composta completamente da opere inedite.
Queste ultime raccolgono tre particolari mood della ricerca artistica e stilistica dell’autore, che si è espresso tramite le sue particolari e personalissime skills; frutto di anni di studio, di esercizio e di evoluzione tecnica e stilistica.
In “Everybody is you” Bartocci esplora ambienti in cui un singolo soggetto è connesso, e di conseguenza influenzato, dall’insieme di elementi che lo circondano. Ed a loro volta, gli elementi collettivi sono composti da, e connessi ad, ogni singolo membro dell’opera; creando così un flusso di continua mescolanza e scambio.
Le opere che compongono “Everybody is you” sono state create attraverso gli stessi codici impiegati da Bartocci nella sua arte di strada, reinterpretati per l’occasione. Sono frutto di gestualità istintive e di un meticoloso studio di Firenze, dalla sua struttura urbanistica al rapporto tra la città e i propri abitanti. Tramite i loro colori e le trame che li compongono, le opere si legano, reagiscono e comunicano con l’ambiente circostante.
I particolari tipi di colori utilizzati dall’artista si diffondono mediante forme fluide e tonalità metalliche. I colori fluo e le riflettenti superfici in oro, argento o rame che animano le opere cambiano seconda del punto di vista ed all’illuminazione, adattandosi a luci ed ambienti; dimostrando anch’esse di essere attivamente parte di questo continuo scambio.

La mostra si è conclusa a Dicembre 2020, ma fortunatamente dal 22 Febbraio “Everybody is you” è tornata ad essere nuovamente visibile in due sale dedicate all’interno dello splendido Palazzo Rosselli del Turco, attuale sede fiorentina dell’European School of Economics.
Ho visitato la nuova sede qualche giorno fa ed è stato davvero interessante vedere come si comportano le opere in questo nuovo e diverso ambiente.
In uno spazio completamente diverso da quello luminoso e minimal di Aria Art Gallery, i colori fluo e le tonalità metalliche delle opere, messe in un ambiente più rinascimentale ed ammobiliato, rispondono in maniera considerevolmente diversa; risultando, ancora una volta, in piena connessione con l’ambiente circostante, in un dinamismo che gli dona una vitalità pazzesca.

“Everybody is you” | Florence by Giorgio Bartocci
“Everybody is you” is the name of Giorgio Bartocci’s personal art exhibition, curated by Antonio Budetta and Giulia Falcone. The exhibition was held a few months ago at the Aria Art Gallery in Florence.
Since the beautiful front garden, the gallery offers us a rather rare environment for Florence.
Aria Art Gallery is located inside a renaissance courtyard rich in vegetation, which alienates us from the chaos of the city and acts as a preparatory corridor for exhibitions.
“Everybody is you” at Aria Art Gallery
“Everybody is you” is completely composed of unpublished works.
These works collect three particular moods of the author’s artistic and stylistic research.
In “Everybody is you” Bartocci explores environments in which a single subject is connected, and consequently influenced, to the set of elements that surround him.
In turn, the collective elements are composed of, and connected to, each individual member of the work; thus creating a continuous flow of mixing and connection.
“Everybody is you” was created through the same codes used by Bartocci in his street art, but obviously reinterpreted for the occasion.
They are creations born from instinctive gestures and from a meticulous study of Florence, from the urban structure of the city to the relationship between it and its inhabitants.
Through the colors and textures that compose it, the works bind, react and communicate with the surrounding environment.
The particular colors used by the artist spread in fluid shapes and metallic shades.
The fluo colors and the reflective surfaces in gold, silver or copper animate the works and change according to the point where they are viewed and the lighting; thus demonstrating that they are also part of this continuous exchange.

The exhibition ended in December 2020, but fortunately from February 22 “Everybody is you” is once again visible inside the beautiful Palazzo Rosselli del Turco; the current Florentine headquarters of the European School of Economics.
I visited the new location of Giorgio Bartocci’s exhibition a few days ago, and it was really interesting to see how the works behave in this different environment.
In a space completely different from the luminous and minimal one of the Aria Art Gallery, the fluo colors and the metallic shades of the works, placed in a more Renaissance and furnished environment, respond in a very different way; resulting, once again, in full connection with the surrounding environment, in a dynamism that gives a crazy vitality.
