Esta columna no quiere fomentar el fenómeno, sino que se limita a documentar lo que ya es una expresión cultural extendida por todo el mundo.
Cosa ti ha fatto iniziare a dipingere?
Iniziai a dipingere alle scuole medie, era il 2006. Io ed un mio amico fraterno ci siamo avventurati in un mondo a noi sconosciuto grazie al gioco “Marc Eckō’s Getting Up”. Da lì iniziammo a disegnare senza sosta. Ma vivendo in un paesino non avevamo grandi disponibilità, infatti trovammo le prime Montana e Clash solo quando siamo arrivati alle scuole superiori. Da quel momento partì una passione che non si è mai spenta, anzi, si è subito trasformata in uno stile di vita vero e propio quando ho iniziato a fare i primi pannelli.
What made you start painting?
I started painting in middle school, it was 2006. A close friend of mine and I ventured into a world unknown to us thanks to the game “Marc Eckō’s Getting Up”. From that moment we began to draw more and more; but we lived in a small town and we did not have much of chance. In fact, we only found the first Montana and Clash when we were in high school. From that moment a passion began and it never stopped, on the contrary, it immediately transformed into a real lifestyle when I started making the first panels.
¿Qué te hizo iniciar a pintar?
Empecé a pintar durante la escuela media, por el 2006. Yo y un amigo mío nos aventuramos en un mundo desconocido para nosotros a través del videojuego “Marc Eckō’s Getting Up”. A partir de allí empezamos a pintar sin descanso. Pero, viviendo en un pueblito, no teníamos muchas posibilidades; ya cuando llegamos a la escuela superior, conseguimos nuestras primeras Montana e Clash. Desde ese momento, nació una pasión que nunca se ha apagado, por el contrario, se transformó rápidamente en un verdadero y propio estilo de vida, desde que comencé a hacer mis primeros trenes.
Cosa ti spinge a scrivere il tuo nome?
Il mio nome è una storia strana. Diciamo solo che sono stato ispirato e costretto dalla parola stessa. (Beccato)
What makes you write your name?
My name comes from a strange story. Let’s just say I was inspired and forced by the word itself. (Busted)
¿Qué te hace escrivir tu nombre?
Mi nombre viene de una historia extraña. Digamos solo que fui inspirado y obligado por la palabra misma. (Atrapado)
Quale è la volta che hai rischiato di più?
La stessa volta in cui ho capito che la mia ragazza era quella giusta. Stavo con lei da qualche settimana ed una sera, per farle capire qualcosa del mio mondo, ho deciso di portarla con me. Arrivati sul posto, non c’era una bellissima situazione, e decisi di entrare da solo, dicendole che per qualsiasi problema lei se ne sarebbe dovuta andare.
Ricordo che avevo appena finito di riempire e mentre ero abbassato vidi che una macchina era entrata nel deposito. Mi misi subito sotto al treno e presi i colori, e ad un certo punto sentii delle voci… sbirri. Passarono pochi secondi ed il mio sguardo si incrociò con quello di uno di loro, che gridò.
Uscii di scatto e corsi come non avevo mai fatto, uno di loro iniziò a correre e sparò in aria, poi il solito: fermo o sparo. Durante la fuga caddi facendomi male e non potevo continuare a correre, quindi mi nascosi nel buio. Mi sentivo abbastanza sicuro, fin quando non sentii la polizia parlare con gli abitanti delle case circostanti, dicendo loro che dovevano perlustrare la zona perché “poteva esserci un ricercato”.
Così ho aspettato le 7 di mattina ed ho chiamato un amico per venirmi a prendere e portarmi al lavoro.
PS. La mia ragazza si è vista tutta la scena, con tanto di spari, sdraiata nella macchina… Sto ancora con lei.
When you risked the most?
The same time I realized my girlfriend was the right one. I was with her for a few weeks and one evening, to make her understand something of my world, I decided to take her with me. Arrived on the spot, there was not a good situation and so I decided to go in alone, telling her that for any problem she would have to leave.
I remember that I had just finished filling and as I was lowered, I saw that a car had entered in the train yard. I immediately got under the train and I took the colors, and at a certain point I heard voices… cops. A few seconds passed and my eyes met those of one of them, who shouted.
I got out quickly and I ran like I had never done before. One of them started running and fired into the air, then the usual: stop or I’ll shoot. Going out I fell hurting myself, and unable to keep running I hid in the dark. I felt quite safe in the dark, until I heard the police talking to the inhabitants of the neighboring houses, telling them that they had to search the area because ‘there could be a wanted person’.
So I waited for 7am and called a friend to pick me up and take me to work.
PS. My girlfriend saw the whole scene, complete with shots, lying down in the car… and I’m still with her.
¿Cuál ha sido la vez que has estado en mayor riezgo?
Fue aquella misma vez, en la que me di cuenta que mi compañera era la correcta. Estaba con ella desde hace algunas semanas y una noche, para mostrarle un poco de mi mundo, decidí llevarla conmigo. Al llegar al lugar, la situación no era la más bonita, por lo que decidí entrar solo, diciéndole que, ante cualquier problema, ella debía irse.
Recuerdo que había apenas terminado de rellenar y, mientras estaba agachado, vi un carro negro entrar en el depósito. Me escabullí debajo del tren y tomé los sprays, hasta que escuche de las voces… esbirros. Pocos segundos después mi mirada se cruzó con la de uno de ellos, que no espero a gritar.
Corrí como nunca lo hice y uno de ellos comenzó a correr lanzando disparos al aire junto al infaltable: Quieto o disparo! Al salir, caí haciéndome daño y no pude continuar corriendo, por lo que me quede, escondido entre la oscuridad. Yo en la oscuridad me sentía bastante seguro, hasta que escuche a la policía hablar con los habitantes de las casas circundantes, diciendo que tenían que inspeccionar la zona, ya que “podría encontrarse un fugitivo”. Así esperé hasta las 7 de la mañana, cuando llame a un amigo para que me recoja y me lleve al trabajo.
Ps. Mi chica se vio toda la escena, con disparos y todo desde su carro… Aún estoy con ella.
Quale azione ti ha soddisfatto di più?
Forse il mio primo viaggio. Roma, che posto pazzesco per un ragazzino da solo; che aveva appena fatto un pannello e non aveva esperienza né conoscenza. Lì, il panico.
Sono tornato a casa 5 giorni dopo, con un bel bottino ed una fotta che non si è mai spenta. Il fatto che ero completamente solo, ed ero giovane, a fare cose che avevo visto solo nei video… Mi ha fatto capire come funziona questo gioco, ed ho iniziato veramente a giocare.
Which action satisfied you the most?
Maybe my first trip. Rome, crazy place for a kid alone, who had just made a panel, without experience or knowledge.
I returned home 5 days later, with a nice booty and a desire that never stopped. The fact that I was completely alone, I was young, doing things I had only seen in videos… It made me understand how this game works, and I really started playing.
¿Qué acción te ha satisfecho más?
Tal vez mi primer viaje. Roma, que lugar increíble para un chico solo, que había apenas hecho un panel y no contaba con experiencia ni conocimientos. Allí, el pánico.
Regresé a casa 5 días después, con un lindo botín y unas ganas de hacer que nunca ha salido. El hecho de estar completamente solo, y joven, haciendo cosas que había únicamente visto en videos… Me hizo entender como funciona este juego, e inicié verdaderamente yo también a jugar.
Raccontaci un aneddoto dalla tua esperienza personale.
Una delle mie esperienze più belle è stato andare a Berlino con tutta la crew. Io sono stato l’ultimo ad arrivare, nel mentre loro avevano già fatto un back jump. Appena sono arrivato, ho posato lo zaino, mi sono cambiato ed ho raggiunto gli altri. Neanche il tempo di salutarli e di sistemare i colori che ci siamo tuffati per un altro backjump. Un ragazzo che era con noi aveva lasciato il suo zainetto in un cespuglio appena fuori dallo spot; noi finimmo i pezzi e, mentre stavamo facendo le foto e le riprese video, arrivò la security. Scappammo e ci dividemmo in due gruppi disperdendoci per un po’ di tempo. Poco dopo, ci arrivò una chiamata dall’altro gruppo, ci dissero che lo zaino era sparito ed era finito in mano a dei punk che stavano accanto allo spot.
Raggiungemmo gli altri e andammo dritti verso l’accampamento. Lì, neanche il tempo di parlare, che scoppiò una rissa; ma ne siamo usciti puliti e con tanto di zaino. Non avevo ancora messo piede a Berlino ed era già la mia città preferita. Gli altri due giorni sono stati solo binari, back jump, tunnel e stazioni. Non ho visto nulla di Berlino, ma sono sicuro che ci tornerò. La cosa bella è che, essendo in tanti, le azioni ruotavano intorno all’essere lì, tutti insieme, tutti per lo stesso scopo. Questa è la cosa che mi spinge a non mollare mai.
Tell us an episode of your personal experience.
One of my best experiences was going to Berlin with my crew. I was the last to arrive, while they had already done a backjump. As soon as I arrived, I put down my backpack I changed my clothes, and joined my friends. Not even the time to say hello and fix the colors, which we went to do another backjump. A guy who was with us had left his backpack in a bush just outside the spot; we finished the pieces and while we were taking photos and video footage, security arrived. We escaped and split in two groups. Shortly after we received a call from the other group, and they told us that the backpack had disappeared and had ended up in the hands of some punks who were next to the spot.
We joined the others and went straight to the spot. Not even the time to talk that a fight broke out; but we came out clean and with the backpack. I hadn’t set foot in Berlin yet, but it was already my favorite city.
The other two days were just tracks, backjumps, tunnels and stations. I haven’t seen anything in Berlin, but I’m sure I’ll be back. The beautiful thing was to be many, to do actions together and all with the same purpose. This is the thing that pushes me to never give up.
Cuéntanos una anecdota, alguna experiencia personal tuya.
Una de mis experiencias más bellas fue ir a Berlín con toda la crew. Fui el último en llegar, de hecho, ellos ya habían hecho un back jump. Apenas llegue, deje mis cosas, me cambié y alcance al resto. Ni siquiera había terminado de saludarlos a todos cuando tuvimos que salir haciendo otro back jump. Un chico que estaba con nosotros, había dejado su mochila en un arbusto cerca del spot; nosotros terminamos las obras y, mientras tomábamos las fotos y videos, llegaron los de seguridad. Escapamos y nos dividimos en dos grupos dispersándonos por un tiempo. Al rato, nos llamaron del otro grupo, diciéndonos que la mochila, antes mencionada, había sido tomada por unos punks que estaban cerca del spot.
Alcanzamos al resto y fuimos directo al lugar, donde, sin siquiera decir unas palabras, se desencadenó una pelea; pero, salimos de ahí completos y con la mochila. Aún ni había puesto un pie en Berlín y ya era mi ciudad preferida. Los otros dos días hicimos solo binarios, back jump, túneles y estaciones. No vi nada de Berlín, pero estoy seguro de que regresaré. La cosa bella es que, siendo tantos, las acciones giraban entorno a estar allí, todos juntos, todos con el mismo propósito. Esta es la cosa que me impulsa a no dejarlo jamás.
